How the Temple is Supported Financially

Turning Wheel Buddhist Temple follows the traditional Buddhist practice of offering the Dharma freely to all, and so we don't charge any fees for attending any temple events. There are of course many costs involved in running the temple, and to meet these costs the temple is dependent on donations. We hold out our alms bowl and invite you to help support both the resident monk and the temple facilities, so that everyone can come and share in the life of practice.

All donations are received with gratitude.

Generosity and openness of heart are important aspects of Buddhist practice, and making even a small donation is one of the ways that we can take part in the mutual giving and receiving through which the lay and monastic branches of the Sangha support each other.

How to Make a Donation

If you would like to make a donation via online banking, please contact us and we can let you know our bank account details.

How to set up a Regular Donation

The temple has many regular costs to meet each month, and it is really helpful to also have a regular source of income through standing orders. If you would like to support the temple with a regular donation in this way, please fill in a Standing Order form and put it in the alms bowl or post it back to us. We will then send it on to your bank.

Alternatively, you can set up a standing order yourself via internet banking. Please contact us and we can let you know our bank account details.

If you do set up a standing order yourself, it would be very helpful if you could send us an email to confirm the amount and date of payment. This is particularly important if you would like us to reclaim Gift Aid on your donation.

You can cancel your Standing Order at any time.

Gift Aid
